About the Role
A1 Consulting Group is looking for a reliable, knowledgeable Network Support Technician who can support our current computer/network environment and eventually take full ownership of our IT systems. This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in hands-on troubleshooting, incremental improvements, and stabilizing an evolving infrastructure.
You’ll provide day-to-day support for Windows machines, optimize and upgrade current systems, backups, shared drives, network devices, and cloud platforms — and help us standardize the systems our previous engineer managed.
What You’ll Do
Immediate Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for Windows computers, improve performance, resolve network connectivity issues, iCloud/iDrive troubleshooting, and general device issues.
- Maintain and monitor backups for:
- 4 shared network locations
- iDrive cloud backups
- Incremental twice-daily backup schedules
- Assist in documenting the current network layout and hardware configuration (switches, routers, local server connections).
- Support users with Office 365, Outlook Connectivity, QuickBooks Online, Intermedia phone systems, and general application issues.
Long-Term Responsibilities
- Take over full operation of:
- Local servers & shared drives
- Computer Optimization
- Router & switch configuration
- Backup infrastructure
- Network performance monitoring
- Develop and maintain basic cybersecurity practices, including:
- User permissions
- Password/access control
- Device encryption
- Security updates/patching
- Help transition and reorganize legacy systems set up by the prior technician.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience with Windows support, basic networking, and cloud backup systems.
- Familiarity with routers, switches, shared drives, and local server management.
- Comfort working with:
- Office 365 & Outlook
- iDrive or similar cloud backup platforms
- QuickBooks Online
- Intermedia VoIP
- Shared network drives (SMB)
- Ability to diagnose issues independently and document systems clearly.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity best practices.
- Must be able to come on-site when needed (Morrisville area).
Preferred Experience (Not Required)
- Experience setting up incremental backup strategies
- Router & switch configuration exposure (VLANs, DHCP, static IPs)
- Windows domain or workgroup experience
- Previous part-time or contract IT support background
- Ability to map undocumented networks and consolidate systems
