Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated, organized, and highly experienced Dispatcher to join our team. The Dispatcher will play a crucial role in coordinating transportation logistics, ensuring timely delivery of goods, and maintaining efficient fleet management. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Coordinate and schedule transportation routes for drivers to ensure timely deliveries the day before, or throughout the week before the delivery due dates.
- Manage fleet operations, including monitoring vehicle performance and maintenance schedules and coordinating with the rail ops manager.
- Utilize transportation management software such as MyAIT or AS400 for data entry and tracking shipments.
- Oversee shipping and receiving processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Communicate with drivers to provide updates on routes, schedules, and any changes that may arise.
- Analyze transportation data to optimize routes and improve delivery times.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless logistics operations.
- Maintain accurate records of all dispatch activities and documentation.
Skills
- Previous experience with dispatching of at least 3 years; airport dispatching a plus.
- Proficiency in fleet management and transportation planning.
- Experience with shipping and receiving processes.
- Familiarity with the area is a plus.
- Strong data entry skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and drivers.
