Position Title: Child Therapist (Part-Time Clinician)
Location: Allendale/Oradell, NJ (Hybrid options may be available but some in person is required)

About Us
At A Work of Heart Counseling & Wellness we are a compassionate and collaborative group practice dedicated to supporting children, teens, adults, and families through thoughtful, evidence-based care. We value authenticity, warmth, clinical excellence, and creating a supportive environment for both clients and clinicians.
We are currently seeking a child therapist to join our growing team and provide therapy services to children ages 4–14. You MUST be willing to work with children ages 5-8 years-old in person.
Position Overview
We are looking for a clinician who is passionate about working with children and families and is comfortable supporting a range of presenting concerns including anxiety, emotional regulation, school-related stress, social challenges, behavioral concerns, family transitions, grief/loss, and neurodivergence.
This is an ideal opportunity for a therapist seeking part-time caseload growth within a supportive and flexible private practice setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual therapy to children ages 4–14
- Collaborate with parents/caregivers as clinically appropriate
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation
- Participate in case consultation and team collaboration as needed
- Build and maintain a caseload of at least 6–8 client sessions per week
- Utilize developmentally appropriate and engaging therapeutic approaches
Qualifications
- LCSW, LSW, LPC, LAC, LMFT, or licensed/license-eligible clinician in New Jersey
- Experience working with children and families preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while also valuing collaboration
- Training or experience in play therapy, CBT, DBT-informed work, trauma-informed care, or family systems approaches is a plus

Schedule Expectations
- Minimum commitment of 6–8 sessions weekly
