We deliver GAAP/IFRS compiled financials, forecasts/budgets, board packages, technical accounting memos, data cleansing/visualization, and ERP optimization.
Role Summary
You will own the monthly close, assist in reporting and finance operations for a portfolio of client companies. It’s a client-facing position that blends technical accounting, controllership-level discipline, and advisory—delivering timely, decision-ready financials and improving clients’ finance processes. Additionally, this role will maintain the financials and payroll for AWA.
What You’ll Do
- Own the close process: Prepare and review monthly/quarterly financial statements (GAAP), reconciliations, journal entries, for multiple clients and AWA.
- Financial reporting & insight: Assist in preparing monthly reporting packages for clients.
- Audit & compliance support: Assist in coordination audit/pre-audit requests, support control documentation, and liaise with external auditors/CPAs.
- Operating excellence: Improve AP/AR, revenue recognition, payroll interfaces, and close workflows; identify automation opportunities.
- Client leadership: Manage timelines and deliverables per SOW; communicate proactively, set expectations, and escalate risks early.
- Documentation: Draft processes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience: 2–5 years of accounting experience (multi-client, public accounting, or outsourced environment preferred), including account reconciliation, journal entries, and month-end/year-end close processes.
- Technical Skills: Strong GAAP knowledge; advanced Excel proficiency; hands-on experience with QBO, Intacct, NetSuite, or similar accounting platforms.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving: Ability to interpret financial data, perform variance analysis, and provide actionable insights.
- Workstyle: Thrives in client service, manages multiple engagements, meets deadlines without close supervision; highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize effectively.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA (active) or progress toward CPA; CMA a plus.
Success Metrics (first 6–12 months)
- On-time monthly close across portfolio with zero material errors.
- Documented process improvements that reduce cycle time and/or manual effort.
- High client satisfaction and expansion of services where appropriate.
Work Environment
Hybrid or Remote (U.S.); occasional on-site client visits as needed. This role reports directly to Audre Wever until Manager of Outsourced Accounting & Finance is hired.
Salary
$60,000–$65,000 DOE bonus
