Senior Living Actuarial Consultant

A.V. Powell & Associates LLC is a boutique, nationally recognized consulting firm with 40 years of experience providing actuarial and financial services to Life Plan Communities. In this role, you’ll work directly with senior consultants, contribute to industry-leading models and analyses, and take on meaningful responsibility in a close-knit environment where independent thinking, initiative, and a willingness to learn are valued.
What You’ll Do
- Assist senior and managing consultants with actuarial and financial analyses
- Perform pricing, feasibility, and forecasting studies for new development and expansion projects
- Contribute to actuarial modeling and long-term financial planning
- Analyze financial and operational information and help develop recommendations for clients
- Work independently while collaborating with a supportive team
- Take on increasing responsibility as you develop your skills and experience
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Business, or a related field
- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience
- Experience in senior housing, retirement/pension planning, actuarial consulting, accounting, finance, or a related field preferred
- ASA/FSA or progress toward Society of Actuaries credentials preferred
- CPA, MBA, or similar professional credentials are a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple projects
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Interest in consulting and helping clients solve complex financial and strategic challenges
