Kitchen Fire Suppression & Fire Extinguisher Technician
A to Z Fire is seeking an experienced Kitchen Fire Suppression & Fire Extinguisher Technician to join our growing team. If you are dependable, safety-focused, and take pride in delivering quality service, we'd like to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, test, maintain, and repair commercial kitchen fire suppression systems in accordance with NFPA standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Service, inspect, recharge, hydrotest, and rebuild portable fire extinguishers.
- Inspect and service suppression system cylinders and components.
- Diagnose and repair deficiencies to ensure systems remain code compliant.
- Perform routine inspections at restaurants, churches, schools, healthcare facilities, commercial buildings, and other customer locations.
- Install and properly mount fire extinguishers and related life safety equipment.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete installations and repairs.
- Complete all inspection reports, service documentation, and customer paperwork accurately.
- Educate customers on inspection requirements, maintenance schedules, and fire code compliance.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in a clean and professional manner.
- Deliver outstanding customer service while representing A to Z Fire professionally.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience servicing commercial kitchen fire suppression systems and portable fire extinguishers.
- Working knowledge of NFPA standards and fire protection industry regulations.
- Experience inspecting, rebuilding, recharging, and servicing fire extinguishers.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders when necessary.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Self-motivated, dependable, goal-oriented, and committed to continuous personal and professional development.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must successfully pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
