Responsibilities:
- Install, terminate, and splice fiber optic cables in commercial, industrial, and residential environments
- Perform fiber optic testing using OTDR, power meters, and other diagnostic equipment
- Pull, route, and dress fiber and low-voltage cabling through conduit, cable trays, and pathways
- Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic network issues to minimize downtime
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for cable installations
- Maintain accurate documentation of installations, test results, and project progress
- Adhere to industry standards including TIA/EIA and OSHA safety regulations on all job sites
Requirements:
- 1–2 years of hands-on experience in fiber optic installation and termination
- Proficiency with OTDR testing, fusion splicing, and fiber polishing techniques
- Experience with single-mode and multimode fiber optic systems
- Ability to read and follow technical diagrams, blueprints, and work orders
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently
- Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying outdoor conditions
