Academic Tutor (Academic Tutoring) and SAT/ACT Test Prep Tutor (Part-Time)
Location: Jenkintown, PA (In-Person Local Travel)
Rate: $30–$55/hour
Job Summary:
A Test Prep and Tutoring is growing, and we’re looking for passionate educators to support students through Academic Subject tutoring and/or SAT/ACT preparation.
This is not a combined requirement role - we are actively hiring:
- Subject Tutors (academic support)
- SAT/ACT Test Prep Tutors
- Or tutors who are interested in both areas
We welcome candidates with strength in either area and will match tutors with students based on their expertise.
Responsibilities:
Academic/Subject Tutoring
- Provide one-on-one tutoring in Math (K–7 and 8–12) and other academic subjects as needed
- Support students with current coursework and foundational skill-building
- Customize lessons based on school curriculum and individual needs
- Help students build organization, study habits, and confidence
SAT/ACT Test Prep
- Provide one-on-one tutoring for SAT and/or ACT (Math and/or Verbal)
- Teach test-taking strategies, pacing, and accuracy techniques
- Analyze diagnostic results and tailor prep plans
- Support students in achieving measurable score improvements
General Responsibilities (All Tutors)
- Track student progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Communicate regularly with families and the A team
- Maintain professionalism, reliability, and consistency
- Collaborate with staff to support student success
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Prior teaching or tutoring experience strongly preferred
- Teaching certification strongly preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, organized, and student-focused
- Ability to adapt to different learning styles
- Available for in-person tutoring in the Jenkintown area and willing to travel locally
- Open to online tutoring sessions when needed
Compensation and Benefits:
- $30–$55 per hour, depending on experience and subject expertise
