A Team Delivery, Inc.
Oshkosh, WI Full Time
POSTED ON 10/25/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 12/23/2026

About Us

A Team Delivery Inc. is an established FedEx Contracted Service Provider with operations at the Oshkosh, WI terminal. We are building a high-performing team and are looking for an experienced, hands-on Operations Manager to serve as the Business Contact (BC) and lead our day-to-day delivery operations.

Position Summary

The Operations Manager / BC is the primary on site leader responsible for the daily execution of FedEx pick-up and delivery services. You will manage a team of approximately 20 drivers, oversee fleet readiness, optimize routes, enforce safety and compliance standards, and serve as the primary liaison between the company and FedEx terminal management. This is a player-coach role: you will lead from the front, stepping into a route when needed and building a culture of accountability, safety, and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Operations & Route Management

  • Ensure all P&D routes are staffed, trucks are operational, and packages are delivered on time daily
  • Create and assign routes nightly in DRO; optimize routes to maintain minimum stop thresholds and maximize revenue per route
  • Monitor daily service metrics including on-time delivery, scan compliance, service failures, and missed pickups; take immediate corrective action as needed
  • Coordinate daily dispatch operations, manage driver communication, and resolve real-time delivery issues throughout the day
  • Attend and actively participate in daily terminal meetings with FedEx Terminal Managers and P&D management
  • Serve as a contingency driver in the event of call-offs, driver shortages, heavy volume, or other unforeseen circumstances

Driver Management & Team Leadership

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and train new drivers to ensure full staffing across all routes; maintain a bench of qualified part-time / contingency drivers
  • Conduct driver performance coaching, corrective action, and terminations as necessary in partnership with ownership
  • Ensure all drivers complete required safety training on schedule, including monthly safety meetings and FedEx-mandated modules
  • Build and maintain a positive team culture with high retention; foster accountability, mutual respect, and a strong work ethic
  • Coordinate with other FedEx contractors in the building to establish mutual-aid relationships for peak periods and emergencies

Safety & Compliance

  • Champion FedEx's “Safety Above All” culture across the entire operation
  • Ensure strict compliance with DOT regulations, Hours of Service (HOS), Pre-Trip / Post-Trip vehicle inspections, and all FedEx Ground policies
  • Manage and maintain accurate records for driver qualifications (CDL/MVR), drug testing, physicals, and personnel files
  • Investigate accidents, injuries, and service incidents; file reports promptly and implement corrective measures
  • Ensure all vehicles display required DOT markings and maintain current inspection stickers

Fleet & Equipment Management

  • Oversee a fleet of approximately 20–22 delivery vehicles; coordinate and schedule preventative maintenance, repairs, and inspections to minimize downtime
  • Maintain complete and up-to-date vehicle maintenance logs, registration records, and inspection documentation
  • Manage relationships with local mechanics and maintenance vendors; ensure cost-effective and timely repairs
  • Monitor fleet condition, fuel usage, and equipment readiness; escalate capital needs to ownership proactively

Administrative & Reporting

  • Maintain timesheets accurately for payroll processing; ensure compliance with wage and hour requirements
  • Provide regular operational reports to ownership covering route performance, staffing, fleet status, compliance, and financial metrics
  • Assist with onboarding paperwork, background checks, drug screening coordination, and new-hire documentation
  • Manage communication with FedEx Ground customer service, sales, and pickup coordination teams to resolve customer-facing issues
  • Support peak-season planning, including volume forecasting, staffing ramp-up, and equipment readiness

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; must be insurable
  • Must pass a background check, drug test, and DOT physical
  • Physically able to drive a P-1000 / P-1200 step van and deliver packages to residential and commercial addresses (lifting up to 150 lbs)
  • Available to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, occasional evenings, and Saturdays during peak season; this is not a 9–5 role
  • 2 years of management or supervisory experience in logistics, transportation, delivery operations, or a fast-paced operational environment

Strongly Preferred

  • Prior FedEx Ground experience as a BC, manager, or driver with at least one peak season
  • Experience with DRO (Dynamic Route Optimization) and FedEx systems (GroundCloud)
  • Familiarity with DOT compliance, ELD/HOS regulations, and fleet maintenance scheduling
  • Experience managing 15 drivers and/or 10 routes simultaneously

What We’re Looking For

  • A player-coach mentality – willing to jump on a route, load a truck, or solve a problem alongside the team
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and a business-ownership mindset
  • Excellent communication skills for working with FedEx terminal staff, drivers, and ownership
  • Calm, decisive problem-solving under pressure – things change fast in last-mile delivery
  • Dogged determination and resourcefulness; when a route needs coverage, you find a way
  • Reliable follow-up and follow-through on tasks, commitments, and corrective actions
  • A positive attitude that inspires others and builds a winning team culture
