As a DSP at A Steady Hand, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities. Located in North Columbus, this position is essential to our mission of delivering compassionate care and support, making a meaningful difference in our clients' daily lives.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and support to a very active woman with disabilities.
- Help individual schedule and attend her activities and medical appointments.
- Assist her with daily living activities, including medication, making good choices, and meal preparation.
- Monitor and document her health and behavior, ensuring safety and well-being.
- Administer first aid as needed and maintain awareness of client medical needs.
- Encourage her to engage in social activities. promote her independence and enhance her quality of life.
- Collaborate with other team members at the site.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment at all times.
- Communicate effectively with her guardian and healthcare professionals regarding her progress.
Qualifications
- Experience in home care or group home settings is preferred.
- Strong commitment to providing high-quality care and support for individuals with disabilities.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and patient observation techniques is essential.
- Ability to assist clients with daily living tasks compassionately and effectively.
- Familiarity with memory care practices is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with individuals, families, and team members.
- Flexibility to work varied hours as needed to meet client needs.
