Job Overview
We are seeking reliable and professional NEMT Drivers to safely transport clients to and from medical appointments. The ideal candidates will have excellent driving skills, a clean driving record, and a strong commitment to client safety and comfort. This role is on the road, covering multiple locations in the service area.
Duties
- Safely pick up and transport clients to medical appointments, clinics, hospitals, and other designated locations.
- Assist clients with mobility needs, including entering/exiting vehicles and securing wheelchairs or other mobility devices.
- Maintain cleanliness and routine maintenance of vehicles to ensure optimal operation.
- Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and HIPAA/privacy regulations regarding client information.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, healthcare facilities, and passengers to coordinate schedules and address any concerns.
- Handle heavy lifting when necessary to assist with mobility aids or luggage.
- Keep accurate records of trips, mileage, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Provide exceptional customer service by being courteous, respectful, and attentive to passenger needs.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with passengers and team members.
- Ability to navigate the service area safely and efficiently.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when required and handle physical aspects of the job safely.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics for routine checks and minor repairs.
- Prior experience in paratransit or healthcare transportation is a plus.
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance with traffic regulations.
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings as required.
