Speech Assistant Job Description
AFFA Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and reliable Speech Assistant to support speech and language services at our location: 1887 Richmond Avenue, Staten Island, NY
This position offers a flexible schedule and may be available as part-time or full-time, depending on the candidate’s availability and the needs of the center.
Responsibilities
The Speech Assistant will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to support clients with speech, language, communication, and social interaction goals.
Responsibilities may include assisting during therapy sessions, preparing materials, helping clients practice speech and language exercises, documenting progress, and maintaining a supportive and professional environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is patient, dependable, caring, and comfortable working with children or adults who may have different communication needs.
Preferred qualifications include experience in speech services, childcare, education, healthcare, special needs support, or a related field. A background or degree in speech-language pathology, communication disorders, psychology, education, or a similar area is a plus.
Schedule - Flexible schedule available.
Part-time or full-time opportunities may be considered.
