What You'll Do
- Support project managers with project controls, documentation, and job cost tracking across active heavy civil projects.
- Help supervise on-site execution to maintain quality, schedule adherence, and safety expectations.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, and inspection coordination to remove execution blockers and keep work progressing.
- Track daily installed quantities for inspections and payment purposes, and assist with owner billings.
- Issue purchase orders, coordinate deliveries, and complete quantity takeoffs to support field operations.
- Prepare weekly look-ahead schedules, assist with monthly CPM schedule updates, and maintain SWPPP logs and related compliance documentation.
In the first 6 to 12 months, success in this role will look like:
- RFIs, submittals, and inspection documentation being handled accurately and quickly enough to avoid unnecessary field delays.
- Daily quantities, supporting records, and billing inputs being organized and dependable for owner payment processes.
- Weekly look-ahead schedules and monthly CPM updates giving the team clear visibility into upcoming work and schedule risk.
- Purchase orders, deliveries, and quantity takeoffs being completed accurately so crews have what they need to stay productive.
- Project managers and field supervisors viewing you as a reliable contributor who helps connect field execution, documentation, compliance, and cost control.
We are looking for someone who combines field awareness, organization, and follow-through in a construction environment. The right candidate will likely bring:
- A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands-on experience on heavy civil projects at the intern or Project Engineer level.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate documentation, and communicate effectively with field and project teams.
- A willingness to work onsite, travel between project sites, and take ownership of the details that keep projects on track.
