Job Title: Temporary In-Office Advocate (Training for Remote On-Call Support)
Organization: A Safe Place
Location: In-Office (Temporary) Will transition to remote On-Call rotation
Hours: 20-30 hours/week during training period
Hourly Rate: $18.50
Position Summary:
This position is a part-time temporary role funded through the Victims of Crime Act funding and is designed to meet required training and onboarding benchmarks for future participation in an on-call rotation only position. This position focuses on ensuring the employee is trained on providing all domestic and sexual violence services the center provides to survivors.
Upon successful completion of training requirements and conclusion of the grant, the position will transition to an after-hours, on-call rotation only position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Participate in in-office training on crisis intervention, advocacy, and support services.
· Provide direct support to survivors, including safety planning and resource referrals.
· Assist with hotline response and intake processes.
· Maintain strict confidentiality standards.
· Maintain and document participant records and client services in a confidential timely manner provided to the Direct Services Supervisor.
· Transition to remote on-call coverage following successful completion of all required training.
· Respond to hotline calls and provide crisis support in both Warren and Forest Counties that include in-person services for medical advocacy at the local hospital and accompaniment at law enforcement agencies.
· Perform any other eligible duties as required or assigned by grant requirements.
Additional Responsibilities:
· Complete the 20 hours of required annual training relevant to essential responsibilities and standards.
· Must be able to accurately perform above listed duties independently with little to no oversight.
· Must have the ability to work with a diverse group of individuals while maintaining a non-judgmental manner.
· Must be able to handle crisis situations in a calm manner.
· Demonstrated concern for domestic and sexual violence victims.
Qualifications:
· Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Working knowledge of general computer operations, including Office 365 (i.e. Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams) as well as agency email
· Valid PA Driver’s License, use of personal vehicle, proof of auto insurance, and registration required.
· Act 33 and Act 34 Child Abuse and Criminal History Clearances and Act 114 Federal Criminal History Background Check (Fingerprint).
· Successfully complete required Domestic Violence Advocate/Counselor and Sexual Assault Advocate/Counselor training.
