Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Raleigh, NC, for a Childcare Director at A Safe Place Child Enrichment Center. The Childcare Director will oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring that the center provides a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for children. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring staff, implementing early childhood education programs, developing relationships with families, and ensuring compliance with state and local regulations. The Director will also manage administrative tasks, such as enrollment and budgeting, and maintain open communication with all team members and families.
- Ensure the implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing requirements and regulations set forth by the NC DCDEE.
- Recruit, hire, and train qualified staff members.
- Provide ongoing supervision and support to staff, including conducting performance evaluations.
- Maintain accurate records, including attendance, enrollment, and staff training
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment for children, staff, and visitors.
- Communicate regularly with parents and families regarding their child's progress and the program's activities.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
- Record and monitor center compliance with Child and Adult Care Food Program Regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- NC DCDEE Level 3 Administrator credential.
- At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role in a childcare setting.
- Knowledge of NC DCDEE regulations and licensing requirements.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and community partners.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
