Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Injection Molding Maintenance Technician to join our production team. This individual will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and support systems to ensure consistent, efficient, and high-quality production.
The ideal candidate is mechanically and electrically savvy, detail-oriented, and passionate about preventive maintenance, uptime reliability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on injection molding presses, robotics, and auxiliary equipment (chillers, dryers, thermolators, loaders, grinders, etc.)
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime.
- Conduct mold setup assistance, tool changeovers, and press readiness verifications as needed.
- Partner with production and engineering to identify root causes of recurring issues and implement long-term solutions.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and spare parts inventory in the CMMS.
- Assist in installing and commissioning new molding equipment and automation.
- Support safety and quality initiatives — ensuring all maintenance work meets ISO, OSHA, and company standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on equipment reliability, energy efficiency, and process optimization.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical/trade school preferred).
- 3 years of hands-on experience maintaining injection molding equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
- Skilled with troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment and sensors.
- Proven commitment to workplace safety and preventive maintenance best practices.
Preferred:
- Experience with brands such as Engel, Husky, Nissei, or Arburg.
- Familiarity with RJG, IQMS, or other process monitoring systems.
- Welding, machining, or fabrication experience a plus.
- Certification in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or electrical systems a plus.
