Position Overview
Sanitation Associates are responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in our facility by performing cleaning, sanitizing and waste management tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
CLEANING AND SANITIZING EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES
· This includes production machinery, floors, bathrooms, and common areas, following established sanitation schedules and procedures.
WASTE MANAGEMENT
· Collecting and disposing of trash and recyclables, maintaining disposal areas, and operating compactors or other waste-handling equipment.
HOUSEKEEPING AND MAINTENANCE
· Dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, and disinfecting surfaces; stocking cleaning supplies; performing deep cleaning or special projects as needed.
COMPLIANCE AND SAFETY
· Adhering to government sanitation regulations, good manufacturing practices (GMPs), and safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
EQUIPMENT OPERATION
· Using powered cleaning equipment and other mechanized tools safely and effectively.
Qualifications:
The following levels of job knowledge, skills and abilities are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Understanding of sanitation procedures, basic operation of production equipment, and familiarity with cleaning tools and chemicals.
- Ability to follow instructions, maintain accurate records, and compliance with hygiene standards.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience:
Minimum education required: High School Diploma or GED.
Physical Requirements
· The heaviest weight the employee lifts while standing in the same position is 50 lbs. The heaviest weight the employee tilts while standing is 50 lbs. The approximate number of times lifted or tilted each workday is 50. Task being performed is occasional lifting 5-gallon buckets filled with water and cleaning agents, 50 lbs.
· Frequent lifting brute with dolly to empty water, 20 to 50 lbs. Frequent lifting brute with dolly to empty water, 20 to 50 lbs. Occasional tilting dump cars to drain water, 75 to 100 lbs.
· The heaviest weight the employee carries while walking from place to place is 50 lbs. The object being carried is 5-gallon bucket with water and cleaner. The approximate number of times carried each day is 5. The task being performed is same as above.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
The work environment is primarily in the production and warehouse environment and therefore, to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, must be able to work in an environment having the following conditions:
- Varying temperatures – The temperatures in the production and warehouse areas vary within a range of 100 degrees to -20 degrees.
- Damp conditions – Due to constant sanitation, the environment is damp, and the floors are typically wet and slippery.
- Sanitation chemicals – Due to constant sanitation, approved food-grade sanitation chemicals are frequently present in the work environment.
- Food allergens – Dairy, eggs, wheat, soy, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, and sesame are used as ingredients in our products and are frequently present in the work environment.
- Production equipment and vehicles – Equipment with moving mechanical parts and/or sharp edges and cooking vessels that operate at very high temperatures are present in the work environment and proper safety precautions must be observed. Forklifts and hand trucks are used extensively to move ingredients and finished products to various locations throughout the work environment and proper safety precautions must be observed.
- Noise – Noise levels in the work environment are moderate.
- Sanitary safeguards – Proper clothing, shoes, hair restraints and other attire must be worn as required by government regulations and/or Company policy, and jewelry and nail polish are strictly prohibited in production areas.
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
