By presenting new and challenging merchandising and product ideas, the Merchandising Intern is key to the development and enhancement of the business. Through assortment planning, analyzing sales and profit, line development, merchandise selection on a seasonal basis and knowing the customer, including key product trends, our Merchandising teams play a critical role in determining what is sold in our stores.

Core Position Responsibilities
- Participate in meetings with cross-functional partners. Gain an understanding of the role of Merchandising in the product lifecycle.
- Learn to identify the Aeropostale customer.
- Learn more about the day to day tasks accomplished by an Assistant Merchandiser including PO entry, business analysis, store visits, etc.
- Provide research, maintenance, and support for assigned departmental projects and tasks as assigned.
- Participate and provide feedback in group meetings and discussions if applicable.
- Support Merchant team with sample management and sample prep for milestone meetings.
- Provide research regarding competition and product trends via competitive shopping analysis.
- Relevant coursework in merchandising/buying/retail management.
- Detail orientated individual.
- Strong communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; strong time management skills.
- Must be available June 2nd - August 22nd 2025 for 40/hours per week.
- Adhere to regular in-office presence, including engaging in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration.
- Job duties may be performed effectively using the hybrid work program designated by the company.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor as the company retains the right to change duties to this position.
- Must have authorization to work in the United States.
- Have access to your own personal laptop, and a stable Wifi connection.
