What are the responsibilities and job description for the PCA Personal Care Assistant position at A RAY OF SUNSHINE HOME CARE?
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Help with mobility and transfers, including using assistive devices as needed
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry and tidying up
- Escort clients to appointments or social outings
- Administer medication according to prescribed schedules
- Document client care activities and report any changes in client's condition to supervisor
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a personal care assistant or in a similar role is preferred
- Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Reliable transportation to travel to client's homes or facilities
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
