The Role
The Executive Chef will lead all culinary operations, ensuring consistency, creativity, and operational excellence. This position requires a hands-on leader who can inspire their team, manage food and labor costs, and continue to evolve a menu that excites guests and reflects Whiskey Yard’s distinctive personality.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire the culinary team through mentorship, creativity, and accountability.
- Oversee all kitchen operations, from prep to service execution.
- Maintain brand standards for flavor, presentation, and quality.
- Manage food and labor costs to achieve prime cost targets.
- Ensure full compliance with sanitation, safety, and health standards.
- Partner with leadership to develop seasonal features and new menu items.
- Maintain positive vendor relationships and oversee inventory and ordering.
- Recruit, train, and develop talented kitchen professionals.
What We’re Looking For
- 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef or Chef de Cuisine in a chef-driven or upscale casual concept.
- Demonstrated success in team leadership, cost management, and operational systems.
- Deep understanding of scratch cooking, flavor development, and plating aesthetics.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Culinary degree preferred, but not required — proven excellence speaks louder.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
