Regional Director of Clinical Operations – Registered Nurse (Hospice) to lead and oversee the clinical services across multiple hospice locations. This pivotal role requires a dynamic leader who can ensure the delivery of compassionate, high-quality patient care while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. As a key member of our management team, you will drive operational excellence, foster a positive team environment, and promote best practices in hospice care. Your expertise in nursing administration, care planning, and regulatory standards will be instrumental in advancing our mission to provide exceptional end-of-life care with dignity and respect.

Duties

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for clinical operations across all hospice locations within your region, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, Medicare guidelines, and accreditation standards.
  • Monitor clinical performance metrics, including documentation review, medical records accuracy, and quality assurance initiatives to maintain high standards of care.
  • Facilitate ongoing staff training on EMR/EHR systems, medical terminology, physiology, anatomy knowledge, and documentation protocols to enhance clinical efficiency.
  • Collaborates with the QCC and QAPI Chairperson performance improvement task forces and support the Executive Directors and DPCS in multiple locations
  • Collaborates with leadership, staff and community in processes that continually improve the quality in all levels of care delivery
  • Proactive identification of issues and tracking of corrective action to minimize negative impact and maximize learning opportunities
  • Collaborates with leadership in implementing regional/agency/organizational goals and objectives
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by staying current with industry best practices in assisted living, nursing home experience, home health, hospice care, and acute care settings.

Skills

  • Proven leadership skills with extensive supervising experience in hospice care.
  • Deep understanding of nursing administration principles combined with practical nurse management expertise.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams effectively, residents’ families, and external healthcare providers.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in shift management and medical records oversight.
  • Must be a Registered Nurse
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a nurse, hospice nursing
  • Must know federal, state and accreditation standards applicable to hospice
  • Must know government and other regulatory standards, requirements and guidelines related to quality improvement
  • Must have strong working knowledge of ongoing monitoring techniques (including criteria development and statistical analysis); total quality management principles, tools and techniques
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, negotiate, and lead
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and EMR systems
  • Must be flexible with work schedule
  • Must be able to travel short and long distances as required, up to 60% of the time.
  • Commitment to HIPAA compliance, ensuring the confidentiality and security of all medical records and sensitive information.
