What are the responsibilities and job description for the AP Human Geography Teacher position at A Plus 1 Academy?
We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate AP Human Geography (APHUG) Teacher to join our academic team.
Responsibilities
- Teach AP Human Geography courses (small group or one-on-one)
- Deliver instruction aligned with the College Board AP Human Geography Curriculum Framework
- Help students master key topics including population, culture, political organization, agriculture, urban development, and economic geography
- Guide students in FRQ writing, exam strategies, and critical thinking
- Assess student progress and provide timely academic feedback
Qualifications
- Strong familiarity with the AP Human Geography course and exam
- Prior AP teaching or tutoring experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (Geography, Social Science, or related fields preferred)
- Native or near-native English proficiency
- Responsible, organized, and able to communicate clearly with students and parents
- AP score of 4 or 5, AP Reader experience, or U.S. high school teaching background is a plus
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $40.00 - $60.00 per hour
