Responsibilities
- Lead daily classroom activities, lesson planning, and curriculum development tailored to the developmental needs of children
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive growth
- Implement child development instruction techniques aligned with best practices in early childhood education
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies that encourage positive interactions
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and support staff to ensure high-quality childcare delivery
- Maintain compliance with mandated reporting laws and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations including first aid and CPR standards
- Support early intervention initiatives for children requiring additional assistance or special education services
- Incorporate literacy education, math activities, physical education, and other educational components into daily routines
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor developmental progress
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in a daycare or preschool setting with classroom management expertise
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, early intervention strategies, and special education needs
- Demonstrated ability to develop engaging curricula that incorporate literacy education, math skills, physical activity, and social-emotional learning
- Excellent communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration
- Valid certification in first aid and CPR; knowledge of mandated reporting laws is essential
- Experience with toddler care, preschool teaching, and working with young children from diverse backgrounds
- Familiarity with classroom experience related to childhood welfare standards and daycare regulations
- Ability to plan lessons effectively while adapting to individual child needs and standardized testing requirements
