At The Crib, we believe in fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive. We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Pre-School Teacher to join our team.
Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Preschool Teacher to support lead teachers in the classroom. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a classroom or daycare setting, possess strong communication skills, and be committed to helping young children develop cognitively, emotionally, and socially.
Responsibilities:
You and the Co-lead teacher and other staff members will work closely to ensure a safe, engaging, and educational environment for the children. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting the co-teacher in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities.
- Supervising children and ensuring their safety at all times.
- Assisting with classroom management and helping children follow routines.
- Encouraging children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development through interactive activities.
- Supporting the lead teacher in maintaining a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Helping with snack and meal times, as well as restroom needs as required.
- Communicating effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on children's progress and daily activities.
- Assisting in observing and documenting children’s behavior and development for future planning.
- Participating in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Supporting the center's policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with state and local regulations.
- Collaborating with other staff members to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Requirements:
- CDA required
- Prior experience working in a classroom or daycare setting is required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and take direction from other teachers and staff.
- Basic knowledge of child development and early childhood education practices.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
