Duties
- Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, hair trimming, pet coat styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and de-shedding treatments.
- Handle animals with care using proper restraint techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff.
- Assist in training dogs in basic commands and socialization to improve grooming experiences.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming preferences, pet health considerations, and after-care instructions.
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, ensuring all tools are sanitized and equipment is in excellent condition.
- Recognize signs of veterinary issues or discomfort in pets and refer to veterinary professionals when necessary.
- Assist with kennel duties, pet sitting, and light heavy lifting to support overall animal care operations.
- Pay is on commission basis and grooming experience.
- Must bring own grooming clippers/scissors. Everything else will be provided.
Experience
- Previous experience in pet grooming and animal handling is required.
- Background in dog training, veterinary technician work, veterinary assistant roles, experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of animal restraint techniques and pet coat styling standards.
- Familiarity with pet nail trimming, animal care procedures.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with pet owners and team members alike.
- Ability to handle animals safely during grooming procedures and perform heavy lifting when required.
- Customer service experience that demonstrates professionalism and compassion in client interactions.
