A Day in the Life of a Registered Nurse (RN)
As a PRN RN, you play a vital role in assessing and supporting patients in their homes. Your responsibilities include:
- Conducting patient visits to assess nursing needs
- Completing initial evaluation visits and developing individualized plans of care
- Performing ongoing assessments and revising plans as needed under physician direction
- Providing skilled nursing treatments and educating patients and caregivers on disease processes, self‑care, and prevention
- Initiating preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures as ordered
- Preparing clinical and progress notes and coordinating services with other care team members
- Communicating directly with physicians and staff to ensure continuity of care
- Re‑evaluating patient needs and assisting with discharge planning
- Supervising LPNs, vocational nurses, and home health aides when appropriate
- Practicing infection control and universal precautions
- Reporting suspected abuse according to state and federal guidelines
- Assisting with office tasks and new‑nurse orientation when needed

Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing
- Active RN license in the state of Oklahoma
- At least 1 year of nursing experience
- CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days)
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
- Ability to travel long distances and adapt to changing schedules
- Experience in home health, critical care, or emergency care is preferred
