Ø POSITION SUMMARY: This position will primarily be programming, performing setups, and in charge of operation & scheduling of work for our Citizen Swiss lathe.

Ø ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform Machinist Operations:

o Conduct all set-up and quality operations in support of machining for self and others. Set-up and operate machines in accordance with travelers and any other required paperwork (i.e. drawings, specifications, etc.).

o Create, edit and/or retrieve programs from system files and execute

o Manufacture product that meets quality requirements. Inspect and verify work prior to submitting for inspection

o Meet time and schedule standards for assigned task

  • Properly use the E2 management system to record job information
  • Advise supervision of issues that arise
  • Identify issues and opportunities in meeting cost requirements of assigned work
  • Identify set-up reduction opportunities and Lean process opportunities and communicate to proper 6S team leads
  • Keep equipment clean and maintain proper fluid levels
  • Return all fixtures and tooling upon job completion

  • Assume other responsibilities as required

· Meet the required delivery dates for all assigned jobs

· Meet customer delivery requirements

· Meet quality requirements of all assigned processes

· Conduct all operations in a safe manner

. 

Ø QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

· Knowledge of Citizen Swiss Lathe 

· A genuine belief in continuous improvement and disciplined processes and a willingness to analyze, challenge and change processes, if needed, to create a more efficient environment and culture

· Organizational and time management skills

· Self starter with ability to multi-task and prioritize work day/projects independently 

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

· Knowledge and use of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments; Instruments should include but not limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators and scales 

· Intermediate knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts and other accessories used on other various machines

· Basic math skills, to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry and algebra for the purpose of calculating material fabrication 

 

Ø EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED: 

· 3 years of machinist experience in a manufacturing environment or manufacturing and technology degree

 

Ø CERTIFICATION/LICENSE REQUIRED:

Valid driver’s license
