Position Overview
We are seeking a Grease Trap Technician to operate vacuum trucks and perform grease trap pumping, cleaning, and related service work in the field. This is a hands-on, physical role requiring attention to detail, strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently while representing the company professionally at customer sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate vacuum tanker trucks (1,500–4,400 gallon units with jetting systems)
- Service grease traps, interceptors, and related systems at commercial locations
- Perform basic jetting and line cleaning as needed
- Complete daily routes efficiently while maintaining service quality and timing
- Follow all routing instructions and communicate with dispatch regarding changes or issues
- Maintain proper documentation (manifests, route sheets, disposal records)
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and equipment
- Keep truck, tools, and work areas clean and organized
- Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements at all times
- Represent A&P professionally with customers and at disposal sites
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A or B (REQUIRED)
- Tanker Endorsement (REQUIRED)
- Air Brake Endorsement (REQUIRED)
- Clean driving record and ability to pass background check
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical labor daily
- Comfortable working in outdoor environments and with industrial waste materials
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs
- Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated
Preferred Experience
- Grease trap pumping, septic, or environmental services experience
- Vacuum truck or hydro-jetting experience
- Knowledge of Chicagoland routes and disposal facilities
- Experience using service apps (Housecall Pro or similar)
Work Environment
- Early morning start times (typically 4:00 AM)
- Fast-paced, team-oriented dispatch environment
- Mix of independent fieldwork and team coordination
- Some nights, weekends, and on-call rotation are required
