Responsibilities
- Assist with surface preparation including sanding, plastering, and cleaning to ensure optimal painting conditions
- Support skilled painters with mixing paints, applying coatings using brushes, rollers, or paint sprayers (including airless spray systems)
- Handle the setup and breakdown of painting equipment such as ladders, scaffolding, and power tools while adhering to safety regulations
- Perform minor handyman tasks including fixture installation, drywall repairs, Log & Cedar Home restorations and general Bathroom renovation work.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and materials are stored safely in compliance with safety protocol adherence
- Interpret technical drawings or instructions for surface treatments and color matching using visual color comparison techniques
- Follow construction site safety regulations diligently, including proper use of respiratory protection and other personal protective equipment
Experience
- Prior experience in construction painting or handyman roles is highly preferred
- Familiarity with residential and commercial painting techniques such as brush painting, roller painting, conventional spraying, construction spray painting, and industrial painting
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes and basic math skills for measuring surfaces and calculating paint quantities
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including airless systems), and scaffolding setup
- Ability to interpret technical drawings or specifications related to renovation projects or structural painting surfaces
- Experience working on construction sites with a focus on surface preparation, coating application, Log/Cedar Home Restorations or remodeling projects
- Strong understanding of safety regulations specific to construction painting environments and maintenance tasks
