We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Auditor with a focus on nonprofit and governmental entities. This role focuses on completing and coordinating nonprofit and governmental audit engagements, training staff, and serving as a key point of contact for clients. The Senior Auditor plays a critical role in ensuring audit quality, mentoring team members, and organizing engagements efficiently from planning through issuance.

Job Duties:

  • Coordinate audit engagements for nonprofit and governmental clients from planning through completion.
  • Develop audit plans, risk assessments, and engagement timelines.
  • Train and mentor auditors; review workpapers and provide constructive feedback.
  • Perform and review substantive testing, internal control testing, and compliance testing (including Uniform Guidance, when applicable).
  • Identify accounting, auditing, and internal control issues and propose practical solutions.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, audit reports, and management letters.
  • Communicate effectively with client management regarding audit status, findings, and recommendations.
  • Coordinate with managers and partners to ensure engagements are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Stay current on accounting and auditing standards applicable to nonprofit and governmental entities.


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
  • CPA license or progress toward CPA licensure (preferred)
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of audit experience in public accounting
  • Experience auditing nonprofit and/or governmental organizations preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, auditing standards, and nonprofit accounting principles
  • Working knowledge of Uniform Guidance and compliance requirements (preferred)
