Job Summary:
The HR Generalist provides essential support for HR operations across all agency programs.
This role focuses on compliance tracking, employee offboarding, documentation management, and providing frontline HR support to staff and Employee Relations Managers. The HR Generalist ensures timely processing of terminations, maintains compliance with state and federal regulations, and serves as a resource for employees, while escalating complex matters to HR leadership.
Salary: $60k
Schedule: M-F 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field preferred.
Experience and Skills:
Minimum 2 years HR or administrative experience required; nonprofit or compliance experience preferred.
Knowledge of HRIS, LMS, and electronic record systems preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills; ability to maintain confidentiality.
Experience facilitating or training groups preferred.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Notary Public commission preferred; ability to obtain within 3 months of hire required.
Responsibilities:
Partner with HR team members to ensure seamless and compliant processing of employee changes, including terminations, separations, and compliance documentation.
Process all termination forms accurately and timely.
Prepare and issue separation letters and related termination documentation.
Coordinate collection and return of agency-issued property, including technology, badges, keys, and other equipment.
Conduct or schedule exit interviews and ensure proper documentation and follow-up.
Maintain and update employee personnel files in both electronic and paper formats in compliance with legal and organizational requirements.
Support Employee Relations Managers by preparing documentation and providing administrative assistance during investigations or disciplinary actions.
