Job Summary:
The Caregiver/Personal Assistant will provide essential non-medical care and companionship to our clients, ensuring their comfort and safety. This role requires a compassionate individual who is attentive, reliable, and capable of working independently. The Caregiver/Personal Assistant must be flexible with their schedule, as this position includes mid-day, overnight, and weekend shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Companionship: Provide friendly and supportive companionship to clients, engaging in conversation and activities.
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Mobility Support: Help clients with mobility, including transfers, walking, and exercising.
- Medication Reminders: Ensure clients take their medications on time and as prescribed.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious meals according to clients' dietary needs and preferences.
- Light Housekeeping: Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and organizing.
- Errands and Transportation: Assist clients with errands, shopping, and transportation to appointments.
- Safety Monitoring: Monitor clients' safety and well-being, reporting any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of care provided, including activities, observations, and any changes in clients' conditions.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and the homecare team to ensure coordinated care.
Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience in a caregiving role preferred, but not required. Training will be provided.
- Background Check: Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.
- Test: Must show proof of valid TB test, or be willing to complete a TB test
- Availability: Must be willing to work mid-day, overnight, and weekend shifts.
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor.
- Ability to follow care plans and instructions.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and transferring clients.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification preferred, but not required.
