Mobile Diesel Mechanic – Semi-Truck & Trailer Technician
Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Mobile Diesel Mechanic to service and repair semi-trucks and trailers in the field. This position requires a dependable, hands-on technician who can diagnose and repair common truck and trailer issues safely and efficiently.
The mechanic will be provided with a company service truck to keep at home and will respond to customer locations, truck yards, and roadside service calls as needed.
Responsibilities
Perform mobile repairs and preventative maintenance on semi-trucks and trailers.
Replace and repair radiator hoses, coolant hoses, belts, and related components.
Perform brake repairs, including brake chambers, brake components, and adjustments.
Replace and repair truck and trailer tires and wheels.
Repair trailer damage, including holes, floors, panels, doors, and other trailer components.
Diagnose and repair truck and trailer lighting and electrical issues.
Perform PM (preventative maintenance) services on trucks and trailers.
Perform DOT inspections and DOT-related repairs.
Troubleshoot mechanical problems and determine the appropriate repairs.
Respond to roadside breakdowns and emergency service calls when required.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and services performed.
Keep the assigned service truck, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and properly maintained.
Follow all company safety procedures and applicable DOT regulations.
Communicate professionally with customers, drivers, dispatchers, and management.
Qualifications
Previous experience working on semi-trucks, heavy-duty trucks, and/or trailers.
Strong knowledge of truck and trailer brakes, tires, wheels, lighting, cooling systems, and general mechanical repairs.
Ability to perform mobile repairs independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to diagnose problems and make reliable repairs in the field.
Basic welding/fabrication and trailer repair experience is a plus.
DOT inspection and preventative maintenance experience preferred.
Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
Must be dependable, responsible, and able to respond to service calls.
Ability to safely lift, carry, and work with heavy equipment and parts.
Must provide professional customer service.
Company Service Truck
A company service truck will be provided and kept at the mechanic's home for mobile service calls. The mechanic is responsible for keeping the truck, tools, equipment, and inventory in good working condition and ready for service.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a reliable, experienced, and self-motivated diesel mechanic who can take a service truck into the field and get trucks and trailers back on the road safely and quickly. Experience with semi-trucks, trailers, brakes, tires, PMs, DOT repairs, and roadside service is highly preferred.
Pay: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour
