Title: Quality Assurance / Test Engineer (ServiceNow / Enterprise IT)
Overall Assignment Description
Ensure enhancements, upgrades, and integrations meet mission and performance requirements prior to release. Develop comprehensive test strategies and plans; build and execute manual and automated tests; manage defects to closure; and coordinate closely with developers, analysts, and end users through UAT cycles to embed quality across the SDLC and minimize mission downtime.
Duties May Include
- Test Strategy & Planning: Define end-to-end test strategies (functional, regression, integration, security, performance, accessibility/508) and trace tests to requirements and user stories.
- Author & Execute Tests: Create detailed test plans, cases, data, and automated scripts (e.g., ServiceNow ATF, Selenium); execute cycles across dev/test/stage/prod.
- Defect Management: Log, triage, and track defects in Jira/Zephyr/ALM; verify fixes; maintain clear reproduction steps and acceptance criteria.
- Release Readiness: Participate in sprint ceremonies and release reviews; validate build notes, back-out plans, and smoke/regression results for go/no-go.
- UAT & Stakeholder Support: Coordinate UAT events with mission users; capture feedback, prioritize issues, and verify operational acceptance.
- Quality Metrics & Reporting: Publish dashboards on test coverage, pass/fail rates, defect aging, and escape rate; recommend process improvements.
- Automation & CI Integration: Expand automated regression suites; integrate test execution with pipelines; maintain stable, reusable test data and mocks.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–5 years in QA or software test engineering (enterprise applications).
- Experience creating automated test frameworks and executing regression cycles.
- Hands-on with ServiceNow ATF and at least one UI automation tool (e.g., Selenium).
- Strong defect lifecycle management and requirements traceability.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills supporting agile teams.
Certifications
- Preferred: ISTQB (or equivalent). ITIL® 4 Foundation is a plus.
Education and Experience (Required — one of)
- Bachelor’s in IT, Engineering, or related field and 3–5 years relevant experience; or
- Associate’s 6 years; or
- HS/GED 8 years in closely related QA/test roles.
Security Clearance
TS/SCI with CI Polygraph (required). U.S. citizenship required.
