Specification Sales Representative

hardwood plywood, composite panels, high pressure laminates, adhesives, hardware, coatings, flooring
and cabinets for the residential and commercial construction markets.
A&M Supply distributes materials to millwork and furniture factories as well as professional
woodworkers, contractors and general contractors. Our company stocks an extensive mix of components
as well as brand name supply products. We bring value to customers via next day delivery from our
eleven locations servicing the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States as well as providing
commercial credit lines to qualifying customers. These services in addition to our best in brand products
have been instrumental to our continuous growth.
Job Description
Create awareness by identifying and developing strong relationships with decision
makers of key companies/individuals among the architectural, interior design,
builder/contractor, and developer communities.
Implement a strategy to obtain specifications through targeting high-value jobs, project
tracking, and CRM.
Maintain and update product information libraries at each Architect/Designer/Builder
location with current literature and samples.
Provide ongoing promotion through presentations & training through AIA accredited CE
sessions/lunch & learn seminars.
Collaborate with marketing/business development to increase probabilities of gaining
specifications and converting leads into orders.

Education & Experience
Education Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in specifications, building products, or related role.
Bachelor degree is highly preferred, but not required to be in the architectural field.
Familiar with architectural specifications, construction design elements and able to
confidently make technical presentations and project recommendations.
Computer literate with advanced knowledge of Microsoft software and CRM platforms
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail and highly organized work practice
Energetic and self-motivation with high level of professionalism
Objective is driven by self-managing capabilities
Ability to travel within designated region 90% of the work week.
Preferred Experience:
BS in Architecture, Engineering, Design or related degree
1 years of prior architectural or industry experience desired
Demonstrated ability to learn technical products, their benefits, and specifications
Experience solving complex problems within a team environment
