Duties
- Lead and supervise landscaping crews on construction projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality standards are met.
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including lawn care, planting, pruning, mulching, and irrigation system installation and repair.
- Manage grounds maintenance activities such as mowing, edging, trimming, and debris removal to keep outdoor spaces pristine.
- Operate grounds maintenance and landscaping equipment safely and effectively, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and irrigation tools.
- Identify various plants, trees, shrubs, and flowers to ensure proper care and landscape design adherence.
- Oversee irrigation management—installing systems, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining water efficiency across sites.
- Assist with hardscape projects such as paving walkways, installing retaining walls or patios to enhance landscape aesthetics.
- Operate company vehicles responsibly for transporting crew members and equipment to job sites while adhering to safety protocols.
- Support team management by mentoring crew members in horticulture practices, equipment operation, safety procedures, and customer service.
Requirements
- Proven outdoor work experience with a strong background in landscaping or grounds maintenance.
- Prior supervising or crew management experience preferred; leadership skills are essential for guiding teams effectively.
- Knowledge of lawn care techniques, landscape maintenance practices, plant identification, and horticulture principles.
- Ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment safely; familiarity with irrigation systems is a plus.
- Strong physical stamina for outdoor work in various weather conditions; ability to lift heavy materials as needed.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to operate company vehicles responsibly; clean driving record preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on teamwork and customer satisfaction.
- Basic understanding of hardscape installation techniques and tree care practices is advantageous.
