Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support and care to individuals in various settings, including home, assisted living, , and community environments. Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by observing for any changes in condition or behavior
- Support by assisting in medication administration following care plans and HIPAA privacy regulations
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through light cleaning duties to promote hygiene and comfort
- Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs to ensure safe transfers and prevent injury
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and report any concerns to supervising staff
Requirements
- Proven experience in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to recognize signs of distress or deterioration
- Certification in First Aid and CPR and additional certifications such as HIPAA training are preferred
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or Alzheimer’s care is highly valued
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or mobility aids preferred
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Valid driver’s license may be required for community-based care roles
