Scrum Master
Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid)
Pay Rate: $55–$65/hour (W-2)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to support a large-scale enterprise application initiative focused on modernizing critical financial operations. This role will serve as a servant leader and Agile coach, guiding delivery teams through Scrum best practices while fostering collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate has a strong background leading Agile software development teams, facilitating Scrum ceremonies, removing delivery impediments, and partnering closely with Product Owners, technical teams, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Agile Leadership
- Serve as Scrum Master for one or more Agile development teams.
- Coach team members on Scrum principles, Agile best practices, and continuous improvement.
- Foster a collaborative, self-organizing, and high-performing team environment.
- Promote transparency, accountability, and predictable delivery.
Scrum Facilitation
- Facilitate all Agile ceremonies, including:
- Sprint Planning
- Daily Standups
- Backlog Refinement
- Sprint Reviews
- Retrospectives
- Help teams estimate work, manage sprint commitments, and improve delivery velocity.
- Partner with Product Owners to maintain healthy, prioritized product backlogs.
Delivery & Program Support
- Remove impediments impacting team productivity.
- Coordinate dependencies across multiple Agile teams and stakeholders.
- Support release planning and delivery forecasting.
- Monitor sprint metrics, team health, and Agile KPIs.
- Prepare dashboards and executive-level status updates.
Collaboration
- Work closely with Product Owners, developers, QA, architects, business analysts, and leadership.
- Facilitate technical discussions and backlog elaboration sessions.
- Support cross-functional planning and dependency management.
- Encourage collaboration between business and technical teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive Agile maturity through coaching and process improvements.
- Support implementation of Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, or other Agile frameworks as appropriate.
- Identify opportunities to improve team efficiency, quality, and predictability.
- Contribute to Agile governance, standards, and Centers of Excellence initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience serving as a Scrum Master within Agile software development environments.
- Experience facilitating all Scrum ceremonies.
- Hands-on experience with Agile lifecycle management tools such as:
- Azure DevOps
- Jira
- Rally
- VersionOne
- Strong understanding of Agile software development methodologies.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to coach teams while removing impediments and promoting continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification.
- Previous Project Management experience.
- Experience supporting healthcare or financial systems.
- Experience supporting enterprise-level software delivery initiatives.
- Knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
- Experience working with API-driven, cloud-based, or integration-heavy applications.
- Familiarity with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience supporting QA, UAT, and release management activities.
- Experience coaching Product Owners on backlog management, story decomposition, and prioritization.
