Pharmacy TechnicianLocation: Sacramento, CAPay Rate: $26.00 per hourSchedule:Monday–Friday: 1:30 PM – 10:00 PMMandatory Overtime RequiredSchedule Change Notice: After approximately 4 weeks, schedule may shift based on business needs to Sunday–ThursdaySunday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PMMonday–Thursday: 1:30 PM – 10:00 PMPosition OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Pharmacy Technician to support a high-volume, automated refill pharmacy environment. Under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician will prepare, package, and distribute medications while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with all regulatory standards. This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced production setting, perform repetitive tasks with precision, and meet daily production goals consistently.Key ResponsibilitiesAccurately fill prescription vials with prescribed tablets and capsulesRead computer-generated screens to locate merchandise on labeled shelves and verify correct drug, strength, and quantityPerform basic mathematical calculations to ensure accurate prescription fillsReplenish automated dispensing cells to full capacity, including opening bulk bottles and cases of medicationScan product barcodes using handheld devices and enter expiration dates and lot numbers into pharmacy systemsMaintain strict focus to prevent cross-contamination and perform quality assurance checks for expired or damaged productsComplete weekly cycle counts and inventory audits at primary and secondary bin locationsAssist inventory department with discrepancy research and root-cause analysisPrepare cold chain and specialty prescriptions following specific handling and packing requirementsAssist with packing and shipping prescriptionsMaintain compliance with federal and state HIPAA regulations and pharmacy standard operating proceduresIdentify issues, resolve problems when possible, and escalate concerns to management appropriatelyMinimum QualificationsEducation & LicensingHigh School Diploma or equivalent experienceActive California Pharmacy Technician License (required)PTCB National Certification (preferred)ExperienceMinimum of one year of experience in a pharmacy, retail, or customer service environmentKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesWorking knowledge of federal and state HIPAA regulationsAbility to follow oral and written instructions accuratelyCapability to perform continuous, repetitive work in a production environmentAbility to work under time pressure and meet productivity goalsStrong attention to detail and sound judgment skillsAbility to multitask and switch between tasks without loss of efficiencyEffective teamwork and communication skillsBasic math proficiencyAbility to operate:Pallet jackHand truck/dollyHandheld scanning unitsWork EnvironmentHigh-volume, automated pharmacy settingFast-paced production environmentPhysically active role requiring standing, repetitive motions, and handling bulk productIf qualified and interested, feel free to reach out to Pierce Jones at pjones@alinestaffing.com or 586-710-7983
