Job Summary: The Receiving Supervisor oversees all receiving operations within the warehouse. This role is responsible for leading the receiving team, managing daily workflow, ensuring accuracy in all inbound shipments, and maintaining compliance with safety and operational standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise the receiving department, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring team productivity.
- Oversee the unloading, inspection, and verification of incoming shipments for accuracy, quality, and adherence to purchase orders.
- Review, approve, and ensure accurate documentation within the warehouse management system (WMS), including receipts, adjustments, and discrepancy reports.
- Communicate promptly with Purchasing and vendors to resolve shipment discrepancies, damages, or shortages.
- Train, coach, and develop receiving associates on procedures, equipment operation, WMS use, and safety practices.
- Maintain organization, cleanliness, and operational flow of the receiving docks and staging areas.
- Coordinate with Inventory Control and Operations to maintain accurate stock levels and support cycle counts, audits, and root-cause analysis.
- Ensure all receiving equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners) is used safely and report any mechanical or safety issues immediately.
- Enforce safety rules, conduct daily safety checks, and promote a culture of compliance and accountability.
- Track team performance, attendance, and adherence to company policies; provide feedback and participate in corrective action when necessary.
- Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager on process improvements to enhance receiving accuracy and efficiency.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of warehouse receiving experience; prior supervisory or lead experience required.
