Full-Time (Exempt) | 40hrs

The Worship Leader will provide leadership, activate vision, and help to shape the culture of worship at A Jesus Church by facilitating and leading worship across various gatherings including Sunday gatherings, Seek Nights, and additional events. They play a crucial role in the practical aspects of worship by handling the detailed planning of setlists, coordinating the scheduling of volunteers, and maintaining essential resources and communications for the team. The Worship Leader is instrumental in the day-to-day operations and is a key contributor to the development and execution of original songs and creative worship projects. They also maintain and strengthen connections with other worship leaders in the city, fostering strategic partnerships under the guidance of the Worship & Production Director, to unify and enhance the worship experience at A Jesus Church.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Facilitate and lead worship for Sunday gatherings and other key gatherings/events as assigned.

  • Support the implementation of Planning Center Services plans for weekly gatherings and special events, as directed by the Worship & Production Director.

  • Handle the day-to-day onboarding process of worship volunteers, coordinating closely with the Worship Director to ensure alignment with overall team strategies.

  • Actively participate in the creation of original songs for A Jesus Church, contributing creative input in collaboration with the Worship & Production Director and other team members.

  • Assist in managing communications, updates, and support for the team, including, but not limited to, Team Nights and AJC Family Nights.

  • Maintain and update the song catalog and resources for volunteer preparation, ensuring materials are current and effective for team development.

  • Execute the scheduling of volunteers via Planning Center Services, ensuring all logistics are handled efficiently.

  • Support the envisioning and logistical planning of new AJC worship-centered events, under the guidance of the Worship & Production Director.

  • Build strategic partnerships with other local worship leaders for collaboration and unity building.

  • The role may include partially overseeing the worship and production aspects of A Jesus Youth and Young Adult gatherings.


Qualifications & Attributes:

  • Mature disciple of Jesus, evidenced in their whole life.
  • Living within the character qualifications of 1 Timothy 3 v1-13.
  • Align with AJC’s theology and values.
  • Participate in community at AJC.
  • An expressed calling to a ministerial role in the Church.
  • A passion for prayer, encounter, and worship.
  • Experience leading worship, arranging bands, and working with musical worship and musicians.
  • Preferably experienced in the use of Planning Center Services.
  • Multi-talented musician/singer.
  • Enthusiasm and a passion to reach youth for Jesus.


Minimum Job Requirements & Expectations:

  • Expected to actively attend AJC and read and are in alignment with the core beliefs of AJC.
  • Ability to be a good teammate who partners in problem-solving, thrives in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment, and manages multiple priorities effectively.
  • Organized, responsible, action-oriented, and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-starter with an inherent desire to achieve exceptional results.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changes and last-minute needs.
  • Good understanding of the English language, especially in written form.
  • Familiarity with Apple operating systems and word-processing applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Pages, Google Docs, etc.) and Google G-Suite applications (e.g., Docs, Sheets, Mail, etc.).
  • Responds to all staff/volunteer correspondence in a timely manner.
  • Attend all required gatherings, staff meetings, various all-staff events, staff retreats, and other meetings as needed.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
