Job Description
The incumbent in this position works as a warehousing lead and provides lead direction to a minimum of 10-12 employees, missionaries, or volunteers in the receiving and replenishment warehousing function. As a lead, the incumbent performs all the functions of a Warehouse Worker 2, in receiving, stores, and/or shipping functions. The incumbent takes the lead in interviewing applicants to fill vacancies, handles minor disciplinary problems, and assists in performance evaluations of employees.
Schedule will be 4 - 10hr sifts Monday to Thursday. Shift Differential will apply to this role.

Responsibilities

- Performs the assigned tasks of a Warehouse Worker, 2.
- Supervises and coordinates the activities of other warehouse workers, warehouse worker trainees, and material handlers in the assigned area. Schedules employee work and ensures assigned functions are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Trains employees in a safe operation of equipment as needed, trains employees in job-related policies and procedures, and conducts regular performance and goal-setting interviews.
- Requires a High School diploma and at least 3 years previous warehousing, material handling, or related work experience. Preference will be given to those who have internal Church warehousing and/or leadership experience. Some college education is preferred.
- Must be able to read and understand English.
- Basic math skills, Intermediate computer skills with training in inventory control and/or shipping and receiving programs experience required.
- Experience in operating motorized material handling equipment.
- Must be able to physically lift/move/push/pull items (up to 50 lbs. alone or occasionally lift up to 100 lbs. with 2 people), climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps to store/retrieve items, and operate a pallet jack containing up to 2,500 lbs.
- Thorough understanding of functional area of assignment and related systems.
- Knowledge and adherence to safety practices.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement practices or be willing to attend training in the first year of employment to better understand these principles.
- Intermediate computer skills required.
