Job Description
The purpose of the Mail Operations Center is to screen, deliver, and/or ship materials between Church Headquarters and the worldwide Church membership. Mail Operations Equipment Operators are responsible for preparing outgoing mail for distribution by examining, sorting, and routing the mail utilizing processing, sorting, and folder/insert machinery.
Our mission is simple: We care for and maintain headquarters facilities and support resiliency and events to create a place where the Spirit may reside and the work of salvation and exaltation can be accomplished We do this by caring for our employees and looking after our buildings in the best way possible.
Shift Details
Compensation: $23.90 - $25.00
Monday - Friday Varies per day (40 hours a week)
Location: Mail Operations Center - Salt Lake City, UT
This is a Full-time position with medical and dental benefits and paid time off.

This is a Full-time position with medical and dental benefits and paid time off.
- *Please Note: This position does not qualify for students required to work on the Ensign College Campus.**
- Prepare incoming and outgoing mail for distribution by loading, operating, adjusting, and repairing equipment used in the Mail Operations Center.
- Bundle, label, and route sorted mail
- Determine the best way to process mail considering make-up, type, content, resources available, and USPS regulations.
- Check mail to ensure that addresses are legible and correct and that sufficient postage has been applied with appropriate documentation.
- Follow established procedures and meeting assigned deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, pouches, sacks.
- Ensure that all safety processes and procedures are followed at all times.
- Assist with the processing of incoming and outgoing mail, including loading and processing deliveries.
- Team collaboration by assisting coworkers with other tasks and responsibilities within the work setting.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 6 years of work experience
- Valid driver's license
- Detailed knowledge of shipping or postal procedures and functions
- Ability to repair, service, and adjust mail operations equipment and machinery
- Must have basic math skills, the ability to read and sort quickly and accurately, and proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office and data entry functions)
- Must pass all required safety and equipment certifications and trainings.
- Must be able to work in a professional manner with others as well as alone without constant supervision.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, push, and pull for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to independently lift and position objects weighing as much as 50 pounds. Must be able to team lift and position objects weighing as much as 100 pounds on an occasional basis.
- 2 years of mail operations experience
