Responsibilities
- Safely operate vehicles such as vans, shuttles, or buses to transport patients to and from medical appointments, hospitals, and other destinations.
- Assist patients with boarding and disembarking, providing support as needed to ensure safety and comfort.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of the vehicle, including routine inspections and reporting any issues.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare staff, patients, and dispatchers to coordinate transportation schedules.
- Ensure adherence to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transportation.
- Handle heavy lifting when assisting patients with mobility aids or luggage, ensuring proper technique to prevent injury.
- Keep accurate records of trips, mileage, and patient information as required by the organization.
Requirements
- Valid
driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience in shuttle driving, delivery driving, bus driving, or commercial driving preferred. - Experience with paratransit services or school bus driving is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with patients and healthcare staff.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist patients with mobility needs.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics for routine inspections.
- Excellent customer service skills with a compassionate approach toward patients.
- Reliable transportation for daily shifts; flexibility to work various hours as needed.
- Prior experience in limousine or heavy-duty vehicle operation is advantageous but not required.
Pay: $15.00 per hour
