Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Community Support Associates to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals in various community and residential settings. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor residents’ health and well-being through patient observation and vital signs documentation
- Administer medications and follow care plans in accordance with HIPAA regulations and safety protocols
- Support residents with meal preparation, feeding, and nutrition needs
- Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer’s, or autism spectrum disorders
- Assist with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and ensure safe transfer procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control standards
- Document care activities accurately and communicate effectively with healthcare team members
- Respond promptly to emergencies using CPR or first aid skills when necessary
- Support residents during outings or community activities to promote social engagement
Qualifications
- Prior experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care preferred
- Knowledge of patient care techniques including medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and dementia or Alzheimer’s care
- Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are highly desirable
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and compassionate attitude toward residents with diverse needs
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when required and assist with resident mobility
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards
- Experience working with people with disabilities or developmental challenges is advantageous
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certifications related to caregiving is a plus
