Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - School-Based Health Centers

A Hiring Company
Aurora, CO Full Time
POSTED ON 4/9/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/8/2026
Description:

Every Child Pediatrics is currently looking for an experienced, board-certified Advanced Practice Professional (NP or PA) to work at our School-Based Health Centers (SBHCs) full-time (32 hours per week). Our SBHCs are a critical health resource designated to see Aurora Public School District students and their siblings (ages birth through 18). Our SBHC clinics offer medical, behavioral, and dental health services in addition to connecting families to community resources. The ideal candidate has a passion for working with low-income children, adolescents and immigrant families. Daily patient volume is lower than in a traditional pediatric clinic to ensure clinicians can meet the complex needs of these high-risk youth. At Every Child Pediatrics, no child is ever turned away due to insurance status or the inability to pay, so our providers are empowered to invest in the lives of these children and make a lasting impact through long-term primary care relationships.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient health history, perform physical exams, interpret health information and establish diagnoses
  • Formulate and review treatment and therapy plans, writing prescriptions as needed

  • Manage prescriptions for common pediatric mental health disorders such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, etc.
  • Remain up to date with AAP guidelines and follow trauma-informed care principles and clinical best practices
  • Work with and direct clinical staff on triage, care management, and refill requests
  • Maintain friendly and professional work relationships with a small, multidisciplinary staff
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Support the mission, values, and vision of Every Child Pediatrics
  • Protect patient and family rights and ensure an atmosphere which allows for privacy, dignity, and well-being in a safe and secure environment

  • Competency in pediatric primary care services, including vaccine schedules, history collection, physical examination, adolescent screenings, ordering and interpreting evidence-based diagnostic tests, and managing common pediatric primary care diagnoses
  • Experience using an EMR (our system is AthenaHealth)
  • Conversational Spanish language skills are strongly preferred (over 90% of our patients only speak Spanish)
  • Experience working with diverse low income and/or immigrant populations is preferred
  • Strong foundational knowledge in child development preferred
