Harrison Contracting Company is looking for a hands-on Controller with Construction experience to lead our accounting function and help provide clear, accurate financial information to support better business decisions. This role is responsible for monthly financials, cash flow visibility, internal controls, budgeting, job cost reporting, and leadership of the accounting team. This is not a sit-back-and-delegate role. We need someone who can lead the team, improve processes, dig into the details, and communicate financial information in a practical way that operations and leadership can actually use. What You'll Do:

This role is responsible for monthly financials, cash flow visibility, internal controls, budgeting, job cost reporting, and leadership of the accounting team. What You'll Do:
- Lead monthly close and financial reporting
- Oversee AP, AR, payroll, general ledger, reconciliations, and accounting records
- Manage cash flow reporting and forecasting
- Support budgeting, planning, and performance tracking
- Strengthen internal controls and accounting processes
- Manage the monthly Revenue Recognition/ Work in Process (WIP) meetings with operations management
- Participate in developing and implementing strategic initiatives directed by the leadership team
- Provide clear financial insight to company leadership
- Partner with operations to improve job cost visibility, profitability, and understanding
- Lead, coach, and develop the accounting/finance team
- Work with outside partners including banks, auditors, tax advisors, and bonding agents
- 5 years of accounting/finance experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred, or strong equivalent experience
- Construction or project-based accounting experience required
- Experience with job cost, WIP, revenue recognition, and month-end close
- Strong Microsoft Office including Excel and accounting system skills
- Ability to lead people while still doing detailed work
- Clear communicator who can explain numbers in plain English
- Organized, accountable, and comfortable in a fast-moving environment
