Built on excellence, integrity, and professionalism, we are actively seeking a qualified Unarmed Security Officer for a placement with the NYC Department of Probation on Staten Island.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Unarmed Security Officer will serve as a professional, visible presence at a Department of Probation facility, supporting a safe and orderly environment for staff, probationers, and visitors. This part-time role can only be extended to an active or retired NYPD officer—or other law enforcement professional—who brings sound judgment, composure, and situational awareness to a government facility setting.

SCHEDULE

• Part-time: Monday through Thursday
• 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain a professional, unarmed presence at designated posts within the facility
• Control facility access, screening all visitors and vendors per post orders
• Monitor entry points and common areas for unauthorized access or suspicious activity
• De-escalate volatile or tense situations using professional communication and sound judgment
• Respond to disturbances or emergencies and coordinate with law enforcement/facility staff as needed
• Conduct regular interior patrols, including lobbies, hallways, and common areas
• Document and report all incidents per A&H Security protocols and client requirements
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding matters observed on site
• Adhere to all post orders, site rules, and applicable New York State laws and regulations

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

• Extended standing, walking, and patrolling during scheduled shift hours
• Sustained alertness and professionalism in a government facility setting
• Ability to respond promptly and appropriately to on-site incidents

IMMEDIATE HIRE ELIGIBILITY

The following candidates are eligible for immediate hire upon verification of credentials:

• Active or retired NYPD officers

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid New York State Security Guard License
