We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with children and those with developmental disabilities, to implement behavior intervention plans and support their overall well-being. This role requires a strong understanding of behavioral health principles, crisis management techniques, and the ability to work collaboratively with families and other professionals.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a licensed professional.
- Provide direct support to clients in various settings, including homes, schools, and community environments.
- Collect and document data on client behaviors and progress towards goals.
- Assist in crisis intervention and management strategies when necessary.
- Collaborate with families and caregivers to ensure consistency in behavior management techniques.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure confidentiality of client information.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities related to applied behavior analysis (ABA) and other relevant practices.
Skills
- Experience working with children and individuals with developmental disabilities is essential.
- Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies and crisis management techniques.
- Familiarity with working with individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
- Understanding of special education principles and practices.
- Skills in addiction counseling and supporting individuals with substance use disorders are a plus.
- Proficiency in patient care practices, including vital signs monitoring and medication administration.
- Strong background in social work or behavioral health services.
- Ability to manage medical documentation, terminology, records, intake processes, and data collection effectively.
- Experience in behavior management techniques that promote positive outcomes for clients.
