Position Summary
The Legal Administrative Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to attorneys and legal staff to ensure the efficient operation of the office. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a confidential legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to attorneys and legal staff.
- Prepare, format, proofread, and distribute legal correspondence and documents.
- Maintain and organize client files, both electronic and paper.
- Schedule appointments, meetings, court dates, and deadlines.
- Answer and direct phone calls, greet clients, and respond to general inquiries.
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing mail, email, and courier deliveries.
- Assist with document filing, including electronic court filings where applicable.
- Maintain calendars and monitor important deadlines.
- Order office supplies and maintain office organization.
- Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or administrative certification preferred.
- Previous administrative experience required; experience in a legal office preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with legal terminology and document preparation is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
